The Ceremony - 10.00am
Kenchō-ji, Kamakura, Japan
10.00 AM
Join us for our wedding ceremony at Kenchō-ji, the oldest Zen training monastery in Japan and the first of Kamakura’s Five Great Zen Temples. Our ceremony will be contemporary in style, set within the stillness and beauty of this extraordinary place.
Following the ceremony, we’ll gather inside the monastery for cocktails and time together before the evening continues.
Dress Code
Formal / Black Tie Optional
Kamakura can be quite cold in December. While heaters will be provided at the temple, we strongly recommend bringing a warm coat or an extra layer to stay comfortable throughout the ceremony and cocktail hour.
Transportation
Buses will depart for Kamakura from The Okura Tokyo and The Capitol Hotel Tokyu at 10:00 AM. We recommend taking the provided transportation to the ceremony.
A Note on Shoes
Guests will be asked to remove their shoes after the ceremony for the indoor cocktail hour. We recommend planning your footwear accordingly.
Some of the wedding grounds can be challenging with stilettos.
